Crusader Connection 12-11-20
December 11, 2020
Dear OLGC School Families,
As 2020 comes to a close, it is a great time to reflect on all the ways God has blessed our school community. This year has brought many challenges surrounding Covid-19, but our school family has worked together and become stronger than ever. We could not be more grateful for the important work happening at OLGC Parish School.
To Mrs. Hunt and the Administrative Leadership Team
Thank you for your leadership and support during this challenging time. You remain a source of positivity and strength where much remains uncertain and we can't thank you enough for all the ways you care for our school family. We notice all the efforts you make each day to help us adapt and manage the many changes we encounter - all while maintaining our school's academic excellence and mission. We are thankful to have the opportunity to benefit from in-person learning for the past 17 weeks. This is truly remarkable and you are to be commended for your sacrifice, investment and love for us all. We are so grateful for your leadership!
To the staff and teachers
You are amazing. The gift of in person instruction that you have selflessly offered has not only brought academic, emotional, and spiritual growth to our children, but it has also provided structure and stability to our families that we are forever grateful for. Despite daily mask wearing, out of the ordinary class arrangement, extra spacing, and additional cleaning and sanitizing, you have remained firm in your service to your students each day. The love and care you have for our children truly shines through you. Our children are eager to go to school and excited to learn with you and their friends. Words cannot express how thankful we are for your sacrifices, dedication, and bravery.
To our children
You continue to work hard to do your very best. We have seen you grow academically and in your relationship with Jesus. Thank you for being a witness of God’s joy in our lives each day.
To our school community
We have seen our school grow in size and strength with the blending of 78 new and existing families. Our returning families bring wisdom and stability to our school and have provided great hospitality. Our new families have brought a fresh, positive spirit to our school community. Working together and with the support of our wonderful parish, we have seen a remarkable increase in fundraising this year. The Fall Bash was our most successful to date raising over $115,000! In addition our successful Cash Raffle, will provide families with over $62,000 in tuition assistance this year along with meaningful contributions for school technology, student enrichment, school-wide events and hospitality. Our OLGC family is stronger than ever and the joy of our community is felt despite not being able to join together in person as we typically would. Your unwavering support and prayers is appreciated.
To our priests
What a blessing you have been to our students and staff! We are grateful for your frequent visits to the school; your constant visibility outside of Mass has provided a stronger connection to you than ever before. Our children love seeing you greet them in the morning and are thrilled when you pop into their classrooms. We are so thankful for weekly divisional masses, sacramental offerings, blessings and the fun you bring to our school! Your warm personalities and enthusiasm are a gift. You all remain in our prayers and we give thanks for being a parish school!
All of these successes point to the thriving community we have at OLGC Parish School. We give God all the Glory and will keep our eyes fixed on Jesus as we enter 2021. May God bless you this Advent season, and we wish you a Merry Christmas!

Reminder: Be Sure to Self Screen
It is imperative that every child is self-screened before coming to school in the morning. By sending your child to school, you are declaring that you have completed the

If you answer "YES" to one or more questions, you must keep your child home from school.
In addition, the
Student Symptom Decision Tree
