September greetings!
We have some great events and offerings to highlight this month in Evangelical Charity. As always you can go to our website and see all of the ways you can serve in our parish, outside the parish, within the local community and in the Detroit area. As always thank you for your willingness to be Jesus to others.

Let's Be Inspired
Son of a potential future Saint to speak at OLGC!
Do you know the story of Tom Vander Woude? Tom saved his youngest son Joseph, who has Down syndrome, from drowning in 2008, but sadly perished in the process. Tom died while freely and lovingly giving up his life so that his son could live! Tom's cause for canonization is now being explored in the Diocese of Arlington, VA.Chris Vander Woude, one of Tom's sons, will give his talk No Greater Love: The Tom Vander Woude Story on Wednesday night at 7pm in the Social Hall. This event is free to attend but we encourage registration so we have an accurate head count. We hope to see you there!
Let's Help!
SERVERS NEEDED: We have an opportunity next weekend at St. Al's Grill Club on September 26th for various roles! Sign up below to hand out coffee, chat with folks in line or give out rosaries and pray with our Detroit brothers and sisters. It's a quick and fun way to help out our sister parish.
Our Life Issues Ministry could use your help in setting up our White Cross display next weekend. Please consider signing up on Sunday September 27th to help with this robust project! Please also to remember to pray for this display: For hearts to be changed to a greater respect of life from womb to tomb.
Let's Celebrate!
PRIESTHOOD SUNDAY: Let's celebrate our priests and enjoy some coffee and donuts and some special treats after the 8am & 10am Masses on Sunday September 27th! Thanks to our Clergy Appreciation Ministry for organizing this event.
SPAGHETTI DINNER: PBJ Outreach will be selling tickets to their annual Spaghetti Dinner next weekend and October 3/4 after Masses. This is their only fundraiser of the year and it's always a popular event! The dinner is October 17th in our Social Hall and tickets can also be purchased at the door. Your support for this long-standing ministry (24 years!) is appreciated!
