Happy Fall!
As promised in our September EC Update, I mentioned a survey I sent to my ministry leads asking them to reflect on several questions. One question I asked:
How has the Lord been working in your ministry?
Here is just a sampling of some of the answers:
"The volunteers really appreciate helping parishioners who need a meal. Many parishioners are so grateful and thank us a million times."
"We have older members who are experiencing medical issues, and some of our ladies feel comfortable sharing their prayer requests. Other ladies are encouraging and comforting as they sympathize with those in need. This is helpful and beautiful support."
"He’s been allowing us to be a real difference in people’s lives — turning faith into works — and when we get especially powerful success stories we would love to share them out with the parish-at-large!"
"It is so amazing to develop relationships with these parishioners - even though most are just over the phone. It's remarkable to see how just talking to one another really brings a smile and makes a difference in someone's day."
All the ministry leads agreed on one thing: They need more volunteers! If you'd like to be a part of any of the Evangelical Charity groups, you can head on over to the Volunteer page to see our full list.
Please also note that we are hosting a Protecting God's Children Worship at OLGC on Wednesday October 22nd. Register at virtus.org.
Hard to believe it will be Thanksgiving soon! There are many opportunities to serve those in our local community and beyond during the month of November:
Plymouth Community United Way is having their annual Make a Difference Day on November 15th. See the flyer below!
St Vincent De Paul Bundle Days are coming November 8/9 so save those dates!
Thanking you ahead of time for all that you do to serve,
Michelle Piccolo
