Greetings on this eve of Palm Sunday as we we enter into Holy Week.
Here are highlights of some of our ministries from March and April:
ST ALOYSIUS: Our first time sponsoring St. Al's Grill Club was a huge success, despite the cold temps. We had more than enough volunteers and Mike Schultz, the Neighborhood Services Director for St Al's (far right in the photo below) was thrilled with the turnout. The next Grill Club is Saturday May 3rd.

FAMILY SERVICE NIGHT: Our Discipleship Formation families gathered on Tuesday April 1st to donate supplies for a Lenten Foot Washing by Catholic Charities to the homeless men and women of Detroit. Our kids learned all about the virtue of humility, what it means to "serve, not to be served" and "humble jobs" they could do at home. All of the foot washing supplies were generously donated by our families and we collected 14 pairs of brand new shoes, 2 large boxes of socks and 8 foot washing tubs. Thank you all for your generosity!

MERCY IN ACTION DAY - COMFORTING THE SORROWFUL: We had over 50 parishioners come out on Saturday morning last weekend to be "crafty" and color wooden picture frames and fill blessing bags with spiritual nourishment for our grieving parishioners and friends. Some drove as "far" as South Lyon and Ann Arbor and we are so grateful for their servants heart.

HOUSE OF HUTCH: A word of gratitude to Melissa Hutchinson and those who work for Aidan's House of Hutch non-profit. They dropped off over 30 boxes of hoodies, t-shirts and sweatshirts to be distributed by PBJ and other local organizations to clothe those in need. What a gift for us to have this local connection and may God continue to bless the work of "Team Hutch!"

HOLY THURSDAY: A reminder that we will have a food collection for Baskets of Hope on Holy Thursday and at the Easter Sunday Masses (not the Vigil). Please remember to bring a canned good or non-perishable food item to Mass and place it in the baskets at the foot of the sanctuary OR in the wooden chest outside the adoration chapel. The food collected at these Masses will be going to St. Mary's Food Pantry in Wayne.
Lastly, let us as all keep in prayer those from our parish who are entering the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. Let us unite our prayers with theirs during this most sacred time and for them to stay close to Jesus as they walk this journey of faith.
