Crusader Connection 2-19-21
February 19, 2021
Dear OLGC School Families,
I hope everyone has had a fruitful start to this Lenten season. We were blessed to begin Lent as a school family celebrating Mass. Ashes were distributed in a different way this year due to Covid-19. As ashes were sprinkled on the heads of students, one preschool student said, "It's Jesus fairy dust!" I love the image that Jesus covered us with His "dust" as we grow closer to Him this Lent!
Lent is a time of sacrifice, traditionally in the form of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Many people are experiencing sacrifice in a different way with the impact of the recent Winter storms. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me regarding my family in Texas. Although my family has been without electricity and water, I am thankful to report that they are safe. Please join me in praying for all of the people who have been impacted. May their suffering and sacrifice unite them to the cross and the heart of Jesus.
In Christ's love,
Melisa Hunt, Principal
