Dear OLGC School Families,
Happy New Year and Welcome Back
Although this week was short, it was nothing less than extraordinary as we welcomed our students back to school! Our parish and school staff began the week with a spiritual retreat. It was an incredible way to
Sharpen Our Saw
and begin the New Year feeling rejuvenated and having our eyes fixed on Jesus. We were blessed with time for Mass, testimony, reflection, prayer, Adoration, worship, and sharing our blessings of 2020 and hopes for 2021. It is an honor to be part of a staff who desires a deep relationship with Jesus and each other. It is focusing on our personal and team growth that strengthens how we serve your families. Thank you for your continued prayers for the OLGC staff and know that we are praying for your family!
Upcoming Parent Meeting
Next Tuesday, January 12th, you are invited to an Open Parent Leadership Team (PLT) meeting. A portion of the meeting will be focused on building community. We understand that many events have been canceled and with limited access to the school, it has been challenging to get to know one another, especially our new families. I hope you are able to join our school family on the Zoom meeting from 7:00-8:00 PM.
No Place Like OLGC
I have heard time and time again from new families, “I didn’t realize a school like this existed.” OLGC Parish School has been a LIGHT amidst much darkness in our world and current circumstances. Praise be to Jesus that even in great challenges, our school continues to thrive. Our community is stronger than ever as we walk the journey of faith alongside each other and provide exemplary academics and spiritual nourishment that meet our students' individual needs. I have no doubt that as we continue on this journey together, OLGC Parish School's LIGHT will shine even brighter as we offer a life-changing encounter with Jesus and equip leaders to transform the culture.
It is our hope to not only welcome back our current families, but every family in our community desiring a Catholic education for their child. Next week, you will be asked as a family to recommit to our incredible school community for the 2021-2022 school year by completing re-enrollment in FACTS. This provides you priority in the enrollment process. (New Family Registration will begin at Open House on January 31st.)
In preparation for re-enrolling for next school year, we want to make sure your family has time to pray with
tuition rates for 2021-2022
. Historically tuition has increased 5% for all children in your family. This year, I am pleased to announce that tuition will increase incrementally based on number of children in your family. Even better, we are able to maintain the new tuition cap at 3 children. Historically, tuition per student does not cover the total cost per student. This past year's average cost per student was $7,569. Thank you for prayerfully discerning if you are able to fully or partially pay the cost gap to educate your child or provide financial assistance for another family in need. In addition, if your family is in need of financial assistance for the 2021-2022 school year, applications begin January 22.
The Greatest Gift
We recognize the decision to pursue and fund a Catholic education is one which requires considerable sacrifice but is also a decision that provides great opportunity to unleash the Gospel within families. There is no greater success and no greater gift you can give your children than a relationship with Jesus and his Church. Our school desires everyone to encounter the person of Jesus and be formed through a personal relationship with Him in and through the Catholic Church. We look forward to our continued partnership in this mission, and we will provide clear instructions on how to re-enroll in the FACTS system next week!
In Christ's love,
Melissa Hunt, Principal
